Single Tooth Dental Implant Cost: Implant, Abutment and Crown

  • by

A single tooth implant cost quote should identify three separate parts: the implant placed in the jaw, the abutment that connects it to the restoration, and the crown that replaces the visible tooth. Our calculator groups these into an illustrative $3,000–$6,000 base range, before extras and location adjustments.

Plan your budget: Use our Dental Implants Cost Calculator to explore treatment and location scenarios. Confirm all fees with your dental provider.

Read the estimate in treatment order

Start with examination and imaging, followed by any preparation, implant placement, a temporary restoration if applicable, and the final abutment and crown. Request the price for every stage. If a surgeon places the implant and another dentist provides the crown, ask both offices to confirm the combined total.

Separate the tooth count from the implant count

One missing tooth commonly leads to a discussion about a single implant restoration, but replacing several teeth does not always mean placing one implant for every tooth. Ask which restoration the proposed implant will support. Do not multiply a per-tooth advertisement across your whole mouth without a treatment plan.

Check the crown specification

The crown material, laboratory work and connection design should be written into the estimate. Ask whether the abutment is included in the crown fee or listed separately. Also clarify whether adjustments and delivery appointments are included; otherwise the apparent difference between two offers may be a difference in what each includes.

Budget beyond the placement appointment

Keep room in the budget for maintenance visits and future repairs. Ask what the practice’s warranty actually covers, whether it depends on scheduled checkups, and whether replacement labor is excluded. The initial price alone cannot describe the complete cost of owning and maintaining a restoration.

Frequently asked question

Is an advertised implant price the price of a finished tooth?

Not always. Confirm that the implant, abutment and final crown are all included, along with any required extra procedures.
